To perform an operation on a segment, you need to first select it. Then, use the follow-on menu path to perform the required operation, as explained in the following table:

Copying a Segment

® Segment, Right-click ® choose Copy Segment

To copy a segment from one BDoc type to another, it is necessary to specify the name of the target BDoc type.

Adding Segment Fields

® Segment, Double-click ® choose Segment Field tab

Allows you to add fields in the segment. For more information, see Defining a Segment-to-Table Mapping.

  • You can double-click a data element to view the data element definition.
  • You can double-click a table field to view the field definition.

Deleting a Segment

® Segment, Right-click ® choose Delete

Deletes the segment along with the segment fields and segment table mapping(s).

Adding a Child Segment

® Segment, Right-click ® choose Add a Child Segment

Adds a new child segment under an existing segment.

Adding a Sibling Segment

® Segment, Right-click ® choose Add a New Sibling Segment

Adds a new segment at the same level as that of an existing segment.
