Procedure documentation Assigning Object Classes Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

The object class controls the selection of the extractor module in the R/3 System for the initial data transfer and also its processing in the CRM System. Usually the object class of delivered objects should not be changed. For Customizing objects the object class is always CUSTOMIZING. For condition objects the object class is always CONDITIONS.

However, if a new Customizing object has previously been created and assigned to a different object class, you can still change the object class.

When object classes are newly assigned, you can change the extract module for the selected object directly in the R/3 System.

Object classes are stored in table SMOFOBJCLA. The assignment is stored in table SMOFOBJECT.

Changing the Assignment of Object Classes

In the overview screen select an object in the change mode and choose the button in the Assign object class column to change the object class. Alternatively, you can call up the detail screen of the relevant object class by double-clicking on the object name and changing the object class by choosing the Assign object class symbol.

A dialog box appears. It contains the object you selected and the object class you assigned it to (Current object class). Using selection buttons you can choose whether an existing object class is to be assigned to the object or whether a new object class is to be created.

If you want to use a different extract module for the object other than the object class assigned in the R/3 System, enter its name in the Module name field. If you do not enter a name, the extract module assigned to that object class in the R/3 System in the CRMSUBTAB table is used.
