Procedure documentation Creating Transformations Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Procedure

The Modeling functional area of the Data Warehousing Workbench is displayed.

Choose Save.

       1.      In the InfoProvider tree, choose Create Transformationin the context menu of your InfoProvider.

       2.      Choose a source for your transformation and choose Create Transformation.

       3.      The system proposes a transformation. You can use this transformation as it is, or modify it to suit your requirements. To the left of the screen you see the source; to the right of the screen you see the rule group. You use This graphic is explained in the accompanying text  Detail View Switch On/Off to show the target as well.

Note

For InfoCubes with non-cumulative key figures, the transformation suggested by the system cannot be changed. These transformation rules fill the time reference characteristic of the InfoCube. All other time characteristics are automatically derived from the time-reference characteristic.

       4.      Use the mouse to drag new connecting arrows, change existing connecting arrows, or access the context menu of the arrow to delete connecting arrows.

       5.      If you double click on an InfoObject in the transformation group, the maintenance screen for the rule details is displayed. You can select a rule type from the dropdown box.

With key figures, you can specify a transformation type and define a currency translation or quantity conversion.

       6.      Choose Rule Group  ® New Rule Group to create additional rule groups.

       7.      Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Start Routine and This graphic is explained in the accompanying text  End Routine to create the corresponding routines for your transformation.

       8.      Activate your transformation.
