Designing the Business Component
Layout
This process describes the steps involved in designing the layout of a business component. A business component represents a top-level menu in the finished application. Designing the business component’s layout requires you to add the desired menu options, which are tile sets, and to arrange them in the desired order. Then you create a business hierarchy to establish the necessary data flows between the business component’s member tile sets.
You have:
· Created a business component
· Switched to the required change list
...
1. In the Solution Explorer in the Business Components folder, click the business component you want to design with the secondary mouse button and choose View Designer.
The business component opens in the Business Component Designer window.
2. In the Solution Explorer in the Tile Sets folder, locate the category of tile set you want to add and expand that list.
3. Drag the tile set to the designer window and drop it on the business component.
The tile set appears and its caption becomes a menu option in the business component.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for as many tile sets as you want to add to the business component menu.
5. To change the sequence of the menu options, drag a tile set to the position in the list where you want it to appear, and drop it in the new position..
You have designed the business component layout by adding tile sets to it. You can continue with mapping business anchors from the tile sets to the business component. If required, you can establish a data dependency between different tile sets.
