Function documentation Object Data Synchronization Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

The dataset in the consolidated database (CDB) can be synchronized with the dataset in the CRM application database or R/3 backend database. Customizing data is often synchronized.

The data synchronization function can be used wherever a delta data transfer cannot be performed by means of event control. It can also be used to clean up inconsistent datasets.

Synchronization can be scheduled at regular intervals or can be manually controlled.

If a production system is to be used, all background jobs for regular data synchronization must be scheduled.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

Prerequisites

The synchronization object must be marked as such. For this purpose, the field in the Functions column must contain the entry COMPARE in the SMOFOBJECT table for the object. Only one object downloaded in a synchronization BDoc type is allowed to be compared.

Only SAP can release other objects for data synchronization.

Features

Note

To monitor data synchronization see Displaying Objects.
