Creating and Assigning Counter Templates

 

Use

Counters are the objects used to record readings, and therefore for billing usage as well. Counters are always linked with a reading object, such as a copying machine. You create counter templates and assign them to the product (such as a copying machine). You assign the counter to an installation component or an individual object in a contract. When you activate the contract, the system copies the counters from the template to the installation component or the individual object.

The system assigns a unique number for each counter.

 

Prerequisites

·        You have configured the counters in Customizing in accordance with your requirements. For more information, refer to the Implementation Guide (IMG) under Master Data ® Counters.

 

Activities

Create Counters and Assign to the Product

...

       1.      From the SAP Easy Access menu, choose Master Data ® Products ® Maintain Products.

       2.      Enter the name of the product, such as Copier_1.

       3.      Choose Relationships and go to the Counters tab page.

       4.      Use the appropriate pushbuttons to create a counter and assign it to the device.

       5.      Choose application group UBB.
