Function documentation Detail Settings for BW Requests Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

Before you can request data from SAP BW, you first need to make certain detail settings for the individual BW requests.

Prerequisites

You need to have selected a workbook or a query from the tree structure in the Manage and Monitor BW Requests for Mobile Clients screen.

Features

In the dialog box that appears, you can make the following settings:

·         You can enter the date of the next update and specify the period after which the update is to be repeated.

·         You can use the Request Active indicator to specify whether the relevant workbook or query is to be considered.

·         By choosing Request, you can request the relevant workbook or query individually. This is particularly useful for locating and solving errors.

·         You can call up the CRM Middleware Flow Monitor.

You can make additional settings for query requests:

·         You can enter the language to be applied with all users.

·         You can assign a BW variant (with the Variant field) for all users.

For more information, see Lookup for BW Variant Names.

·         You can create a generic variant definition for all users (with the General BW Variant pushbutton).

·         You can make different user-specific settings (with the Users pushbutton). For more information, see the section User-Specific Queries below.

User-Specific Queries

You identify user-specific queries by the selected indicator Query is user-specific. This indicator is set automatically if variables exist for the query concerned, that is to say, if the query has a selection screen. You can then make settings for individual users under Users. In this way, for example, you can enter individual values (variant and language) as well as activate the request.

Under User Variants, you can create user-specific generic variant definitions. You can scroll through all users assigned to a query and thereby maintain the user-specific variant definitions in one step.

Provided that no user-specific selection data has been saved, the dialog box already contains the values set for all users. These values are then valid for the user in question. If this data is changed, it is saved as new, user-specific data and is made valid for this user. The checkbox Variant is User-Specific indicates whether the selection data is personalized for the user in question or whether it is valid for all users.
