Use

This query enables a detailed valuation of InfoCubes with regard to their use and their requirements. (The query definition includes the Using InfoCubes: Reporting/Loading (0BWTC_C10_Q508) BW statistics query, which is available for BW Release 2.x.)

An InfoCube is then valued as being positive

if altogether more data records are read when executing queries than were loaded into the InfoCube, meaning each data record loaded needs to have been read multiple times
if the total time for the queries executed is clearly higher than the required time for loading the data records

Note

However, there are also exceptions: A balance query is possibly executed only a few times, even though high amounts of data were loaded into the InfoCube in the past.

In order to be able to evaluate the InfoCubes examined with regard to their use and requirements, the relationship between the number of all records read (OLAP) and the number of all records loaded (WHM) is calculated in this query, as well as the relationship between the respective times. The higher the quotient is, the more intensively an InfoCube is used and the more positively it is valued. Values that are less than one indicate infrequent use of the InfoCube.

Example

For example, if an InfoCube is no longer or is rarely used by users, but the data is still periodically loaded, the quotient will continue to decrease less than one.
