Searching for Structured Products Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You use this procedure to search for a product that is a structured product or forms part of a structured product. A structured product consists of a header product and any number of component products.

A bicycle is a structured product. The frame, handle bars, and pedals are components of the structured product bicycle.

Procedure

  1. On the navigation bar, choose Products ® Structured Products Search.

The Products/Structured Products Search tile set appears.

  1. Choose the Structured Products Search tile and enter the necessary data:

Product Number

Unique number that identifies the product

Enter the product number.

 

Search for Header Product

Indicates that the search is for header products

Opt.

Choose the checkbox to search for all products that are header products.

 

Search for Component Product

Indicates that the search is for component products

Opt.

Choose the checkbox to search for all products that are component products of a structured product.

 

 

 

 

  1. Choose Search.

A list of records appears on the Structured Products List tile.

Header Product

Specifies the main product of the structured product

View the Details of the Selected Structured Product

  1. Select a product in the Header Product field, by selecting the hyperlink.

The Products/Component Products tile set appears.

This tile displays the details of the header product.

Specifies the unique number that identifies the product

This field is not editable.

The header product is displayed as a hyperlink.

On choosing the hyperlink, the Products/Details tile set appears. This tile set displays the details of the selected header product.

Var

Indicates that the product is a variant product

Opt.

This field is not editable.

Variant refers to changes to the basic model of a product. These changes occur when components are left out or added.

If you are producing several similar products that have a lot of common parts, then you can describe the product as a variant.

Alt

Indicates that the product is an alternative product

Opt.

This field is not editable.

A product that has one or more of its components in various quantities is known as an alternative product.

Therefore, one product can be manufactured from alternative combinations of materials depending on the quantity to be produced.

Alternative Str. Prod.

Specifies the alternative structured product

Opt.

This field is not editable.

 

Date from

Indicates the date from which the structured product is valid

Opt.

This field is not editable.

 

Component Products tile

This tile displays a list of all the component products that form part of the structured product.

Specifies the available quantity of the product

Unit of Measurement

Specifies the base unit of measure for the product

Opt.

This field is not editable.

 

Item Category

Specifies the category of the product

Opt.
