Use

You can only change publications of type unfiltered (bulk) or simple unfiltered. You can assign other replication objects of type unfiltered (bulk) or simple unfiltered to these publications. Replication objects of type simple unfiltered that have already been assigned can be removed again, provided that at least one replication object remains assigned to the publication in question.

You cannot change publications in a production system, but only in a development or test system. Publications changed there are then activated, corresponding function modules are generated and a transport request is created which you have to release explicitly so that the changed publications are transferred into the production system (target system).

Prerequisites

You must have selected the object type Publication in the Object type selection list.

Procedure

Double-click to select the publication you require in the navigation window.

The name and the type of the publication are displayed in the Object information area. You cannot make any changes in this area.

In the Dependent information area the following is shown on the tab page:

·        Assigned Replication objects

In the change mode you can assign additional replication objects to publications of the type unfiltered bulk or simple unfiltered using the Assign This graphic is explained in the accompanying text symbol (however you cannot remove replication objects that have already been assigned from the tab page).

You can select any replication objects of type unfiltered (bulk) or simple unfiltered, which have not yet been assigned to a publication (in the case of intelligent and simple intelligent publications, the display frame remains empty).

Replication objects that have already been selected but not yet saved can be removed from the tab page Replication objects. To remove them choose the symbol This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

Bear in mind that with replication objects of type unfiltered (bulk), new data is not forwarded automatically to sites that have subscribed to this publication. To do this you must first carry out a data extract for each site that is affected, not only in the development or test system, but also (after a successful transport) in the production system. To this end:

...

                            b.      Select the sites object type and then choose the Create Extract function.

                            d.      Conduct a data extraction for each site that contains the subscription you are searching for. To do this:

                                                  i.       Double-click to select the subscription in each case, and select the new replication object(s) in the right-hand screen area.

ii.       If you have selected the new replication objects for each site, choose the Extract ® Execute function from the menu bar or the corresponding button in the application toolbar to carry out the data extract for the affected sites.
