Use

A range of functions are available in product maintenance for working with products. These are either available in the application toolbar, as pushbuttons at the top of the screen, or in the menu bar.

Features

Application Toolbar

·        This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Locator On/Off

Switches the locator on or off in the left area of the screen.

·        This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Open Product

Opens a new product. To do this, you can either specify a product ID or use the input help with various search options to find the correct product.

·        All products worked on during a session can be opened again with the This graphic is explained in the accompanying text and This graphic is explained in the accompanying text options.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Previous Product

If several products were selected, moves back to the previous product.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Next Product

If several products were selected, moves forward to the next product.

Copies the selected product.

·        General Data/Relationships

Switches between the product details and the product relationships.

You can specify which relationships should appear on the Relationships tab in product maintenance and in which order by choosing Extras ® Settings ® Relationships.

Your personal settings for working with product maintenance. You can specify:

¡        Whether product maintenance is accessed in display or change mode

¡        How the locator is displayed and whether the Worklist or Search tab page is displayed by default

¡        Whether the application log should be on or off and positioned at the top or bottom of the screen

¡        Which relationships should be displayed and in what order

Pushbuttons

·        Save Inactive

Products can be saved in an inactive form in product maintenance.
You may then release it later for general use with Save, or remove it from the system with Discard.
To use this option, ensure you have made the relevant settings in the Customizing for SAP Product under Basic Settings
® Allow Inactive Products.

·        Display Inactive

Allows you to switch between an inactive and active version of a product.
To use this option, ensure you have made the relevant settings in the Customizing for SAP Product under Basic Settings
® Allow Inactive Products.

·        Discard

Deletes an inactive product.
To use this option, ensure you have made the relevant settings in the Customizing for SAP Product under Basic Settings
® Allow Inactive Products.

Use this function to switch the application log on or off.
The icon indicates whether error messages have been generated for the product and also indicates the processing status.

Menu Option Goto

·        General Data/Relationships

·        History

Allows you to display all the attributes for the set types of a product in the past and present. A list of set types is displayed first. By double-clicking on the relevant set type, you can see a list of all attributes for this set type.

You cannot use the history for attributes in reference products or Structure linktemplates.

·        Set time

Displays the attributes for all set types of a product at a particular point in time. You need to enter the date and time for which they should be displayed.

·        Source Systems

Displays the original system of the selected product if it is not the application system.

Note

The functions available as icons in product maintenance are also available in the context menu (right mouse button). The Include in Worklist function is also available in the context menu.
