Use

The analytical application Cross-Selling is delivered with ready-to-use InfoObjects for general application. You can only use them directly, however, if you use the InfoObject Product (0CRM_PROD) with CRM data or Material (0MATERIAL) with R/3 SD data for your products. If you want to use your own InfoObject that is tailored to your specific needs, you need to adapt the delivered standard objects in Business Content.

The following procedure describes the steps you need to make for the adjustment and contains some points that you need to be aware of.

Prerequisites

Procedure

To adapt the cross-selling standard objects, proceed as follows:

  1. InfoObjects:
    1. Create new InfoObjects for the leading product and the dependent product respectively.
    2. As the reference characteristic, you need to assign to these InfoObjects the product InfoObject you are using.

      Note

Create the InfoObjects in a new InfoObject Catalog to avoid their being accidentally overwritten when the Business Content is reactivated.

    3. Adapt the navigation attributes of the new InfoObjects and save.

Note

In the description of the navigation attributes, specify whether they reference the leading or the dependent InfoObject.

  1. InfoSource:
    1. Create a new InfoSource and choose as the template one of the pair of InfoSources delivered with Cross-Selling.
    2. In the new InfoSource, replace the entries for the leading product and the dependent product with your own InfoObjects defined in step 1.

Note

Note that the leading product appears above the dependent product.

  1. InfoCube:
    1. Create a new InfoCube and choose as the template one of the pair of InfoCubes delivered with Cross-Selling.
    2. In the new InfoCube, replace the entries for the leading product and the dependent product with your own InfoObjects defined in step 1.
    3. Reassign the dimensions.
    4. Activate the desired navigation attributes.
    5. Activate the new InfoCube.
    6. Create the update rules using the InfoSource defined in step 2 and deactivate the proposed rules without making any changes to them.
  1. Query:
    1. Create a new query in the BEx Analyzer. Take as a template one of the queries delivered with Cross-Selling.
    2. Note

Ensure that you create the calculated key figures in the same way as in the delivered queries.

    3. Model the query.

Result

You have adapted the cross-selling objects to your specific needs and can now use the new objects you created to perform cross-selling analysis.
