Define Catalog Types 

Purpose

You can choose from the following catalog types: manual product assignment, automatic product assignment and manual and automatic product assignment.

The catalog type determines:

·        Product assignment method

·        Text determination procedure for catalog areas and product items

·        Document types for product items (only valid for manual product assignment)

·        Document types for catalog areas

·        Permitted product types

Process Flow

To define the catalog type, select the following:

...

       1.      In Customizing, choose: Customer Relationship Management à Master Data à Product Catalog à Define Catalog Types

       2.      Choose New entries (F5).

       3.      Enter the following example values:

Catalog type	BOTH
Description	Manual and automatic product assignment
Definition
Prod. assgmt	Manual and automatic product assignment
Use	Sales catalog
Permitted product types	Material
Text determination procedure:
For Areas	S2 (all texts)
For Items	S2 (all texts)
Folder Template
For Areas	MANU-AREA
For Items	MANU-ITEM
