Procedure documentation Inserting Graphics in the PC Editor Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You use this procedure to include graphics, such as a company logo, on your mail form. For performance reasons, make sure that the graphics are held in the printer memory. You can store graphics in the printer memory providing:

·        The printer can be configured as necessary.

·        There is enough memory space on the printer.

·        You activated this facility in transaction se78 (see below).

If these conditions are met, the system sends the graphics to the printer only once during one print job.

Note

·         To include background graphics, use the Background graphic tab of a page node.

·         Graphic nodes should be inserted in mail forms to be used for letters, faxes, and PDF files only.

Prerequisites

You have imported the graphic(s) you wish to insert into a mail form to be used for letters, faxes, and PDF files only. To do so, proceed as follows:

...

       1.      From the SAP Easy Access menu, choose Basis Tools ® Form Printout ®Administration ®Graphics.
The system displays the Administration of Form Graphics screen.

       2.      Choose Form Graphics ® Stored on Document Server ® GRAPHICS. Double click on BMAP and select a suitable graphic.

       3.      Choose Graphic ® Import.

The system imports the graphic and stores it on the Business Document Server (BDS).

Procedure

...

       1.      Call the context menu for that node in the tree structure that you want to contain the graphic and choose Create ® Graphic.

       2.      Enter a unique name for the node and a description (for example, company logo).

       3.      Determine whether you want to include a color or a black-and-white graphic.

       4.      Use the fields Object, ID, and Name to identify the graphic. Use input help for the Name field to copy the values of these fields. If you copy them with ENTER, the system displays the graphic in the Form Painter.

       5.      In the Technical Attributes box, determine the graphic resolution according to what the printer offers. Small resolutions increase the size of the graphic on the form, higher resolutions reduce the size.

       6.      For graphic nodes that are displayed in a window, there is a box Horizontal position in addition to the general output options. The parameters Reference point and Alignment determine the horizontal position in the window, while the vertical position is determined by the previous output in the window.

Note
You cannot overlay graphics with text.

Result

The system displays the node with name and description in the tree structure. In the case of mail forms to be used for letters, faxes, and PDF files, the system automatically displays a graphic on the following page if there is not enough space left on the current page. In the case of mail forms for the Internet, the graphic is displayed within the E-mail.
