Extended
Attribute Maintenance
The Attributes option in the Maintain Categories and Hierarchies function displays all attributes for the set types you have defined and all attributes for the financing set types. This option is only available if the Extended Maintenance (PME) indicator has been set in the Maintain Categories and Hierarchies function.
Value ranges can be restricted and default values selected for attributes. However, the following constraints apply if products have already been assigned to the category:
· Single values and value ranges cannot be deleted if the values are already used by a product.
· Additional single values or larger intervals can be assigned only at the highest category level or directly at attribute level.
· Default values can be changed at any time. This has no effect on existing products.
The data you have maintained for the attributes will be inherited by lower-level categories within the hierarchy. The value range can only be restricted (not extended) at a lower level. The following is therefore allowed:
· The value range of the higher-level category can be restricted for a lower-level category (the interval restricted further or the values of the interval reduced to single values).
· Single values allowed for the higher-level category can be excluded for the lower-level category.
To maintain attribute data:
...
1. Select either Distribution-Chain-Dependent Maintenance if you are maintaining distribution-chain-dependent set types, or Organization-Independent Maintenance if the set types are not dependent on a distribution chain.
Before you can maintain the value range or default values for an attribute in a distribution-chain-dependent set type, you must select the appropriate distribution chain.
2. In the list of attributes displayed, select the relevant attribute to maintain value ranges and default values.
3. Save your data.
