Configuring the PAS

Use

Use the procedure below to configure your system for using PAS.

Procedure

Make sure your system meets the requirements for using PAS.

Perform any scenario-specific configuration steps. For example:

If you are using the Windows NTLM authentication as the PAS option, then configure your Web server to use Windows NTLM authentication.

If you are using SSL and X.509 client certificates, then configure your Web server for using SSL. (See your Web server documentation.)

If you are using an arbitrary mechanism on the Web server that sets the user’s ID in an HTTP header variable that differs from the Web server’s standard variable to use for the user’s ID, then specify the HTTP header variable to use in the WGate’s configuration file.

Either maintain the user mapping or configure the PAS for the case that the authentication mechanism provides the user’s ID for the SAP system directly.

Result

The system issues the user a logon ticket based on an external authentication.
