Purpose

The People-Centric User Interface (People-Centric UI) is a particularly intuitive, Internet-like user interface that runs within SAP Enterprise Portal. Whether you are a user who works with the user interface every day – such as an agent in a call center – or whether you are an occasional user only using it from time to time, the People-Centric UI enables you to perform the tasks of your role and navigate intuitively and quickly.

Because of the way it has been designed – using a number of basic design elements – whatever role you are using, the People-Centric UI offers you consistency and a familiar look and feel throughout. Wherever you are in your application, you will easily be able to navigate and perform your tasks. Even if you change to a different application within the People-Centric UI, the user interface will look the same and you will recognize the same navigation elements.

Because the UI is so intuitive, it is quickly learned and easy to remember. This guide Getting Started with the People-Centric UI, is intended to help end users start working with the UI. It explains the basic functions for searching, navigating, and personalizing the UI and serves as a reference work later on.

Implementation Considerations

Before you can start working in the People-Centric UI, your system administrator must have installed SAP Enterprise Portal, which provides the outer framework for this UI, and the relevant Business Package for your role.

Your system administrator must provide you with access to the system.
