Process documentation Launching the Interaction Center WebClient Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Purpose

This process lists various methods you can use to launch the Interaction Center (IC) WebClient.

Prerequisites

·        Minimum technical requirements include: Internet Explorer 5.5

·        See Interaction Center WebClient ® Implementation Considerations

Process Flow

Use one of the following methods to launch the IC WebClient:

·        SAP Enterprise Portal (SAP EP)

If the Interaction Center Agent role is assigned to your user, the IC WebClient appears in workset Interaction Center WebClient. For more information, see Business Package mySAP CRM in iView studio (http://www.iviewstudio.com/).

·        mySAP CRM system

From the SAP Easy Access menu in the mySAP CRM system, choose Architecture and Technology ® ABAP Workbench ® Overview ® Object Navigator (transaction SE80).

...

                            a.      In the top field, choose BSP Application.

                            b.      In the second field, enter CRM_IC.

                            c.      Choose Display This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

                            d.      Double-click CRM_IC.

The BSP application appears on the screen.

                            e.      Choose Test This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

A separate browser window appears, containing the IC WebClient application.

·        Internet Uniform Resource Locator (URL)

Enter the following in the address line of the Web browser, replacing the sections in brackets with the actual values:

http://<host>.<domain>:<port>/sap/bc/bsp/sap/crm_ic/default.htm

The port is usually 1080 or 1081. If neither of these ports work, check with your system administrator. If you want to specify an SAP client, add the sap-client parameter at the end of the URL above.

Example

To specify client 100, use the following entry:

?sap-client=100

You can also save this URL as an Internet shortcut or favorite.

Recommendation

We recommend that you use the Microsoft Windows function New ® Shortcut to save the IC WebClient as a favorite. This method directs the browser to save only the necessary parameter values, and leave out any superfluous parameter values.

To use this function:

§         Right-click your desktop and choose New ® Shortcut.

§         Enter the URL in the shortcut wizard.

§         Delete the session ID from the URL.

The session ID is an alphanumeric string inside parentheses. Sample session ID: (bD1lbiZjPTcwNSZkPW1pbg==)

§         Enter a name for the shortcut.

§         Save your entries and exit the wizard.

For more information, see SAP Note 633150.

Note

When you use the Internet browser to save an IC WebClient URL, the specific application server is saved in the URL address. If you save this URL and use it to launch new IC WebClient sessions, the new sessions will also use the application server specified in the URL, rather than using load balancing to select the application server with the best performance at that time.

To use standard load balancing in URLs instead of specifying specific servers, see SAP Note 660801.
