Generation of the Export DataSource for an InfoProvider 

Use

The export DataSource is needed to transfer data from a source BI System into a target BI System.

Prerequisites

The source BI System be created and actively saved in the target BI System as BI Source System. The steps to be carried out correspond to those for the automatic creation of an SAP source system.

You must first check the data contents of the InfoProvider.

Features

You can use the selected InfoProvider as an InfoSource for another system. The relevant export DataSource is not displayed in the InfoSource tree of the source BI System.

The Metadata of an export DataSource are generated as they exist in the source BI System. This also includes the procedure for external systems.

       1.      Select the InfoProvider tree in the Data Warehousing Workbench in the source BI System.

       2.      Generate the export DataSource from the context menu of an InfoProvider.

The technical name of the export DataSource is derived from the number 8 together with the name of the InfoProvider.
