Defining the Site and Subscriptions for the R/3 Backend
If you are not using an R/3 backend system, you can ignore the steps described here.
To exchange data with an R/3 backend system, an R/3 System must be created in the distribution model as a type R/3 site. You can then assign the R/3 System further attributes such as the RFC destination. Finally, you have to define the distribution rules (subscriptions), which determine which data an R/3 System is to receive.
Prerequisites
You have created an RFC connection in the SAP Implementation Guide.
Procedure
Choose Middleware
® Administration ® Administration Console.Create Site
Name: CRM_AX8_100 (Name of site, in this case, R/3 backend system)
Description: AX8 100 (system ID and client)
Type: R/3 (site type, in this case R/3)
In the dialog box enter the appropriate RFC connection.
Creating Subscriptions
Create one or more subscriptions for your R/3 site. In the subscriptions you can define, for example, that all requests are distributed from CRM to this R/3 site.
You can subscribe to a publication for messaging BDoc types and assign the relevant site to this publication (in this case CRM_AX8_100).
Typical publications are, for example, All Business Partners (MESG) for all business partners and All Business Transactions (MESG) for all orders.
The sites CRM and CDB are contained in the standard system. These two sites distinguish between the dataset of the CRM Server applications and dataset of the consolidated dataset of the mobile clients (CDB).
For more information about creating publications and subscriptions see the documentation on the Administration Console under Help ® Application Help.
