Use

The Landscape Hosts window contains information about the hosts in a TREX system.

Features

The window consists of the tab pages:

Tab Page

Description

Version

Displays information about the TREX instances on the individual hosts.

The following information is displayed:

·        System ID

·        Instance number

·        Time that TREX was started on the host

·        Installation directory

·        User ID that belongs to the respective TREX host

·        Operating system platform

·        Version information for the TREX software

Processes

Displays the TREX processes that run on each host

Network Ping

Displays whether the TREX hosts can reach each other via the network.

The name servers on the TREX hosts check whether they can communicate with each other. This check takes place in two directions: It checks whether host A can communicate with host B and whether host B can communicate with host A.

The results of the check are displayed in the following colors:

·        Green

Communication is working in both directions.

The response times of the hosts are displayed. As long as the response times are in the millisecond range there are no problems network-side.

·        Yellow

Communication is only working in one direction. Host A can reach Host B but not vice versa.

This might be because the host names have not been administrated properly. Host A is not entered in the host name table on host B.

·        Red

No communication is possible.

This might be because the hosts are not running, there are network problems, the names of the hosts are not recognized, or TREX is not running.

The IP Addresses row displays which IP addresses the host has. You can identify here whether a host has more than one network card and thus more than one IP address.

The Time Offset column displays the time differences between the hosts. This column is only for information purposes. Time differences do not affecting the functioning of TREX.

Shared Memory

Displays which TREX instances and which other SAP applications access the shared memory.

The information in this window is relevant if there are error messages regarding the shared memory. The SAP applications that access the shared memory must have instance numbers that are unique across all hosts. If two SAP applications that run on the same host have the same instance number; only one of them can be started.
