Use

In a marketing campaign, you can contact your business partners directly by e-mail, telephone, SMS or other communication methods to inform them about the contents of your campaign. You do this by transferring the target group(s) assigned to the campaign to your defined communication medium, for example, in order to start a direct mailing or telephone campaign at a particular time. You can also generate activities for each of these channels, for example, if you wish to have a complete contact history for a particular customer. See Structure linkActivity Management. For mass campaigns you can generate Structure linkinteraction objects instead of activities. The interaction object only contains the most important information about the outbound contact and therefore optimizes performance.

Activities

In the structure tree, you select the campaign or the campaign element and select the tab page Channels in the work area. On the tab page, you select the required communication medium and enter the required form, IC script and so on for the corresponding communication types.

Then you choose Extras -> Target group to channel in the SAP GUI or Target group to channel on the Target Groups tab page in the People-Centric UI. With the help of the Job Wizard, you plan the transfer of the target group to the communication medium.

NoteTo execute a mailing campaign without using the open channel, you will need to read the following information in the Help Portal:

SAP NetWeaver →Release ’04 → SAP Library → Getting Started → Working with the SAP GUI → Printing from the SAP System.
