Function documentation Condition Types

Use

A condition type shows a specific aspect of the daily pricing activities in the system. You can define a condition type, for example, for every type of price, surcharge or discount that occurs in your business transactions.

ExampleExample of a condition type:

You define the condition type for a special product discount. Using a calculation type, you can then stipulate that the discount is calculated as a fixed amount (for example, a discount of 1,-DM per sales unit) or that the discount is calculated as a percentage (for example, a discount of 2% for orders over 1000 sales units). If you want to use both options, you need to define two separate condition types.

In the above example there are two discounts for the item in the sales order. The first discount is a fixed amount that is dependent on the quantity ordered, the second is a percentage discount from a particular quantity ordered. You define the calculation type for a condition type in Customizing. This rule determines how the system calculates prices, discounts or surcharges for a condition.
