Definition

The portal desktop is what you see on your computer screen after you log on to SAP Enterprise Portal.

Use

When you work with an application in the People-Centric UI you first have to access SAP Enterprise Portal. From here you navigate to your People-Centric UI application.

Structure

The portal desktop refers to the entire portal screen. It consists of three main parts:

·        Header area

Contains the masthead, tools, and the top-level navigation bar.

·        Navigation panel

Contains navigation iViews with content related to your role.

·        Content area

Displays iViews that retrieve content from within your company and from the Internet.

When you launch your portal the first time, you see your assigned portal desktop and can personalize it according to your working needs.

Integration

The People-Centric UI is integrated within SAP Enterprise Portal.
