Deleting External
Lists
After completion of the agreed usage duration for an external list, or after the contractually allowed number of contacts has been reached, the data for the business partners who were not contacted must be deleted.
· It is currently not possible to delete master data physically in the BI system if it is used in other objects (for example, InfoCubes). For this reason, the data in 0ELM_GUID_H and 0ELM_GUID_I is made anonymous, which means that the content is overwritten with blank spaces if it cannot be deleted.
· If an address list is created in the BI system and transferred using the Segment Builder to the SAP CRM system, then the address list is also available in the CRM system.
If an address list was created in the CRM system and is extracted to the BI system, the address list is also available in the BI system.
If you exchange address lists between BI and CRM, you must delete the address lists in both systems.
We recommend deleting the address list in the CRM system first and then in the BI system.
The address data is stored in master data object 0ELM_GUID_H and 0ELM_GUID_I. If business partners are created in the CRM system and extracted to the BI system, then this business partner data is stored in master data object 0BPARTNER.
When deleting an address list, only the data from 0ELM_GUID_H and 0ELM_GUID_I is deleted.
· If the addresses are only rented, then the business partners are indicated as rented. These business partners must also be deleted in 0BPARTNER.
To do this, you must delete the list in the CRM system. The rented business partners in the CRM system are physically deleted and the business partner data for the BI extraction is filled with blank spaces in the delta update. During the BI extraction, the rented business partners in 0BPARTNER are overwritten with blank spaces.
To delete an address list, open it using the External List Management interface. Choose Delete and enter the start date for the background job.
