Transferring Installed Bases from External Systems 

Use

The external interface of the installed base (CRMXIF_IBASE_SAVE) enables inbound- and outbound processing between the CRM Server and external systems.

Prerequisites

The Business Add-In BAdI Mapping for the External Interface for the Installed Base (CRMXIF_IBASE_MAP) enables you to influence interface mapping. This applies to both inbound- and outbound processing.

History data can also be written during outbound processing. To do this, make the necessary settings in the Implementation Guide (IMG) at Customer Relationship Management ® Master Data ® Installed Base ® External Interface ® Make Settings for the External Interface.

Creation of an installed base with components and their specific characteristic values

·        Update

Modification of an existing installed base

·        Delete

Deletion of characteristic values of the installed base, such as components, addresses or partners

Outbound processing also provides an option for writing history information for the installed base.

The external interface can import and export data in both XML/SOAP and ALE/IDoc formats.
