Function documentation Print Output of Configurable Products Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

If you have entered configurable products in the sales order, you can use this function additionally to print the characteristics relevant for print output, that is, characteristic type and characteristic value, for the corresponding configurable product.

Prerequisites

In Customizing for SAP ECC, you have specified a value for a certain class type for the application view for printing (for example, class type: 300, view: P, application view: Print). You can select this value freely. For more information, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for SAP ECC under Cross-Application Components ® Class Systems ® Classes ® Maintain Object Types and Class Types.

In SAP ECC (transaction CL02), you have assigned this value (for example, P) to certain characteristics in the product master data of the corresponding configurable product. This ensures that only these characteristics appear in the print output.

Note

Note that only certain characteristics are worth marking as print-relevant.

You have created a corresponding item category, and have assigned it with the value defined for the application view for printing in field Print Filter ID (for example P (= Print)).

Features

When you create a print output, it contains details on the characteristics of the chosen configuration of the product.

To print this detailed information, you must have assigned an application view for printing to the item category. This application view allows you to influence which characteristics are included in the print output. In this respect, it acts as a filter for print-relevant characteristics. If you do not define an application view for printing, all characteristics are printed.

Note

A characteristic of a configurable product is also printed on the condition that you have already made an assignment for individual characteristics of the same product, even if you have not assigned any application view to it. If you only want to use one application view, for example, for printing, to support the filter function, you must still define at least one more application view and assign the non-print-relevant characteristics to it.

If you have changed the class that contains the application views, you must regenerate the knowledge base, otherwise the application views cannot be used correctly.

Special Features for Mobile Sales

In Mobile Sales, you get a print output in Microsoft Word format of the sales order that contains the characteristics you selected as print-relevant for configurable products, as well as their prices.
