Purpose

You use this business process to automatically process the requirements of energy settlement.

You can gather the information necessary for settlement from a large number of data objects, aggregate or distribute it according to market rules, and make it available to other market partners in the deregulated energy market.

The supplier uses this data to forecast the future consumption of customers (for each grid) and to communicate these values to the distributor.

Process Flow

The business process runs as follows in SAP Utilities:

       1.      Define settlement master data (SAP for Utilities IDE)

       2.      Create settlement document (SAP for Utilities EDM)

       3.      Transfer calculated information to other market participants (SAP for Utilities EDM)

       4.      Analyze settlement run (SAP for Utilities EDM)

Result

At the end of the settlement run, you can send the results to the distributor so that they are able to provide the correct quantity of energy for the different grid areas.
