The following table displays the major differences between the site types used in Groupware integration:

Comparison of the site types

Groupware Adapter 01 (mBDoc) site type

Groupware Adapter 02 (sBDoc) site type

Business Partner Management

Bidirectional exchange of business partners between CRM server and Groupware server to the public contact directory as contact person.

Unidirectional exchange of business partners between CRM server and Groupware server to the personal contact directory.

Only master data information is exchanged. Relationship information for the business partner (account) is not transferred to Groupware.

Relationship information for the business partner (account), such as organization, communication fields, are transferred to the personal contact directory.

Note

If there are multiple accounts for a contact, the relationship information can be transferred only for the main account. The transfer of multiple relationships is not possible.

You only have a very simple filter mechanism available for the synchronization with the public contact directory. You can determine simple filter conditions such as only synchronizing business partners with the role of contact person or employee. You can determine these filter conditions in SAP CRM Customizing under Customer Relationship Management ® CRM Middleware and Related Components ® Groupware Integration ® Application-Specific Activities ® Filter Condition for Business Partners Exchange with Groupware.

Note

Even if filter conditions are set, all business partner data is sent to the SAP MapBox and here there is a check to see if the data is transferred to Groupware.

You can control the distribution of business partners to the personal contact directory by defining criteria fields in the assigned publication- and subscription objects. To execute these settings, choose SAP Menu ® Architecture and Technology ® Middleware ® Administration ® Administration Console (Transaction SMOEAC) in SAP CRM.

You can prevent the synchronization of updated contact person data in the public contact directory to SAP CRM by setting general Groupware settings.

In SAP CRM Customizing, under Customer Relationship Management ® CRM Middleware and Related Components ® Groupware Integration ® Maintain General Groupware Settings, set the Property Value as X in the field Application Scenario Name BUPA for the Groupware Property BP_UNIDIR.

Or, in SAP CRM Customizing under Customer Relationship Management ® CRM Middleware and Related Components ® Groupware Integration ® Application-Specific Activities ® Filter Condition for Business Partners Exchange with Groupware, set the value X in the field Application Scenario Name BUPA for the field Filter Exclusive and the value X for the field GW TO CRM

The update of data in your personal contact directory is not sent to SAP CRM. The data exchange is unidirectional from SAP CRM to Groupware.

The business partner data is transferred, even when there is no valid e-mail address entered for the business partner.
