Object documentation Open Hub Destination Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Definition

The open hub destination is the object within the open hub service that allows you to distribute data from a BI system to non-SAP data marts, analytical applications, and other applications. It allows you to ensure controlled distribution across several systems.

The open hub destination defines the target into which data is relayed.

The following graphic shows how the open hub destination is integrated into the data flow:

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

Use

Database tables (on the database in the BI system) and flat files can act as open hub destinations. You can extract the data from a database to a non-SAP system using APIs with a third-party tool.

Structure

The open hub destination includes all the information about a data target: the type of destination, name of flat file or database table and their properties, as well as the field lists and their properties.

Integration

You can use the data transfer process to update data to the open hub destination.  The data is transformed in this process. Not all rules types are available in the transformation for an open hub destination: Formulas, reading master data, time conversion, currency translation and unit conversion are not available.
