Use

To monitor created Data Collectors, you can use the Data Collector Monitor. The Monitor displays all available Data Collectors and detailed information for each individual Data Collector, for example, status, collected data, and the extract properties. The data extraction process is triggered by a standard queue daemon, which you start and stop in the Data Collector Monitor.

Prerequisites

You have created Data Collectors in the Administration Console and have called the Data Collector Monitor in SAP menu Architecture and Technology  ® Middleware  ®  Monitoring  ® Mobile Client  ® Monitor Data Collector for Mobile Client.

Procedure

       1.      The following detailed information about Data Collectors is displayed in the overview table of the initial screen: Name, status, periodicity, next and most recent execution, and the duration of the most recent execution.

       3.      Change Data Collector status:

       4.      The Data Collector status is displayed in the Status column. In the menu, choose Collector  ® Stop Data Collector to stop the Data Collector. The status of the Data Collector is now displayed in red. This means that the Data Collector continues to collect data, but there is no extraction.

       5.      If you want to restart the data Collector, choose Collector  ® Restart Data Collector. The Data Collector now restarts.

       7.      Display assigned physical sites:

       8.      Select the Data Collector in the overview table and choose Collector ® Assigned Sites.

       9.      Then choose the symbol to the left of the site name to display object information and dependent information about the selected site.

Display Data Collector content:

   11.      Select the Dta Collector in the overview table and choose Collector  ® Collector Content. The object type and its assigned instances now appear below the Data Collector. Furthermore, you get information about the number of various messages collected at this time .

   12.      Double-click on an object type to display more information about the object type, and so on. Use transaction SMOJDCTAB to call the current content of the Data Collector tables directly.

Maintain the Data Collector:

   14.      Choose the symbol to the left of the Data Collector that you want to maintain. Object information and dependent information is displayed in the Administration Console.

   15.      If necessary, you can use site attributes to change the date of the next extraction, for example.

Start extraction manually:

For test purposes, you can also start the extraction process manually:

   17.      Firstly, select the Data Collector for which you want to start an extraction.

   18.      Choose Collector  ® Start Extraction. You can perform the extraction immediately, or as a background job.

 

Display the extraction log:

   19.      To display the extraction log, double-click on the most recent execution of the Data Collector. The log displays the BDoc message packages sent to the physical site during the most recent extraction.

   20.      Double-click on a BDoc message package to display more information. This takes you to transaction SMW01.

Logs are reorganized every two days.
