Procedure documentation Creating Data Collectors for Mobile Clients Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

The Data Collector is an internal data recipient that collects data. As a rule, this is messages sent to a mobile client.

You must define Data Collectors as logical sites and assign them to the physical site for which the Data Collector is to collect data. Creation of a Data Collector is optional.

Prerequisites

You have called the Administration Console and have selected the Site object type in the Object Type selection list.

Procedure

       1.      In the menu, choose Object ® Create, or the corresponding symbol from the application toolbar.

       2.      In the Object Information area, assign a unique name for the site, describe the site (optional) and select the Data Collector type. Choose Site Attributes to select the attributes corresponding to your site type. Specify the properties for extracting the Data Collector:

                            a.      Extraction Periodicity: Select a value between 20 seconds and several days

                            b.      First Execution Time: Enter the date and time of the first data collection

                            c.      Status: If you are authorized to create an active Data Collector, the Data Collector status is “Waiting“. This means that the Data Collector collects data and waits for the first execution time. If you do not have authorization, the status is automatically “Hold“

       3.      Save the Data Collector.

       4.      Choose Subscriptions and use default subscriptions to specify which data the Data Collector is to collect.

       5.      Choose Site and assign the logical Data Collector to a physical site for which the Data Collector is to collect data.

       6.      Save your data.

       7.

Result

You have now set up the Data Collector. For each assigned subscription, a subcheck job is triggered. The subsequent realignment process calculates the assignments between the subscribed instances and the Data Collector site, and fills the generated Data Collector tables.

The Data Collector is updated with all subsequent inbound BDoc messages that meet the subscription criteria. At predefined intervals, the extractor job runs over the tables and creates bulk messages for the specified mobile client.
