Replication of Equipment
Configuration Between SAP CRM and SAP ECC
Use the download function of the bidirectional replication to transfer the equipment configuration from SAP ECC Customer Service (CS) to mySAP CRM. The upload function ensures that regardless of the system in which a change was made, the data is automatically remains consistent in both systems.
The data transfer is triggered in mySAP CRM and is executed by mySAP CRM middleware.
To use this function you require the following releases:
SAP Customer Relationship Management 5.0 (SAP CRM 5.0) with active CRM Middleware
SAP ERP Central Component 6.0 (SAP ECC 6.0)
· All relevant models for material configuration have to be replicated in the form of a knowledge-base object and a linked runtime version.
· Serial numbers and equipment have to be replicated before the linked configuration is replicated.
· The pieces of equipment are represented in mySAP CRM as individual objects of an installed base.
· The configuration of a piece of equipment is copied to the corresponding configuration of an individual object.
· The configuration of a piece of equipment from SAP ECC is displayed in mySAP CRM after the initial data transfer.
· New configurations of pieces of equipment and subsequent changes and updates from SAP ECC are automatically transferred to mySAP CRM as soon as the delta load is activated.
· If a piece of equipment refers to a component within a multilevel configuration, only the single-level configuration to be applied is replicated.
· The upload function ensures that the data remains consistent in both systems. Data changes in mySAP CRM are replicated immediately to SAP ECC if you activated the upload function.
Proceed as follows to start the initial load of the equipment configuration:
...
1. Activate object EQUI_CONFIG (default: inactive) before you start the initial load.
a. On the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Architecture and Technology ®Middleware ® Data Exchange ® Object Management ® R3AC1 Business Objects.
b. Choose the object DNL EQUI_CONFIG and set its indicator to active by deselecting the checkbox in the Inactive column.

To ensure data consistency, maintain the same filter set for objects EQUI_CONFIG and EQUIPMENT.
2. On the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Architecture and Technology ®Middleware ® Data Exchange ® Initial Data Transfer ® Start (transaction code R3AS).
3. Choose the load object EQUI_CONFIG and then select an SAP ECC system as the sending system and an SAP CRM system as the target system.
Proceed as follows to start the delta load of the equipment configuration:
4. On the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Architecture and Technology ® Middleware ® Data Exchange ® Delta Load from the R/3 Backend ® R3AC4 – Set Up Delta Load.
5. Mark adapter class EQUI_CONFIG as active. If EQUI_CONFIG is not available as an adapter class, you have to add it.
6. Save your settings.

To download the serial number configuration from SAP ECC to mySAP CRM, proceed in the same way as described above, but use adapter object SERNR_CONFIG instead.
...
1. Activate adapter object EQUI_CONFIG
a. On the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Architecture and Technology ® Middleware ® Data Exchange ® Object Management ® R3AC1 Business Objects.
b. Choose the object EQUI_CONFIG and set its indicator to active by deselecting the checkbox in the Inactive column.
2. In IMG activity Define adapter object for uploading individual objects, enter adapter object DNL_EQUIPMENT for object family 0401.
