Use

Use this function to generate newsletter-related subscription hyperlinks.

SAP offers a newsletter scenario which includes the following processes:

·        Sending E-mails to a target group consisting of business partners potentially interested in the newsletter

·        Logging on to and maintaining user profiles in the Web shop

·        Updating newsletter-relevant attributes for the business partner

·        Generating a particular target group for the follow-up processes

Prerequisites

·        You have defined and maintained Internet addresses (URLs) for the newsletter-relevant Web page. This URL is later used to generate the newsletter-related Subscribe/Unsubscribe hyperlink. For more information, see Customizing for CRM and choose Marketing  ® Marketing Planning and Campaign Management  ® Personalized Mail  ® Edit URLs for Newsletters.

·        You have realized the newsletter scenario by:

¡        Creating marketing attributes that indicate different areas of interest for newsletters, such as Software Newsletters and Hardware Newsletters.  A marketing attribute is a newsletter category where you can select or deselect values.

¡        Organizing all newsletter-relevant marketing attributes into a marketing attribute set, which is used to generate a target group for the newsletter campaign execution

¡        Assigning the newsletter-relevant marketing attribute set to the business partner on the Marketing Attributes tab page

¡        Maintaining values for the marketing attributes

¡        Using the marketing attribute set to generate a marketing profile for the execution of the newsletter campaign

Note

The Marketing Profile must correlate with your business partner marketing attribute values.

¡        Assigning the newsletter-relevant marketing attribute set to the Web shop in the Newsletter Subscription area of the Web shop administration

¡        Maintaining the Web shop URL for automatic Subscribe/Unsubscribe hyperlink generation in the mail forms. You can achieve this in Mail Form Maintenance by first creating your newsletter and then choosing Subscribe/Unsubscribe to insert a link to the Web shop.

¡        Creating a campaign and campaign element,  assigning a newsletter mail form to the campaign element, and entering the communication medium

¡        Executing your newsletter campaign with the newsletter relevant target group

Example

Marcus Adams, a marketing assistant, works with a mail form to create a newsletter using either the SAPGUI or the People-Centric User Interface. He clicks Set Subscribe/Unsubscribe to easily include a link to the Web shop, which allows customers to register themselves and maintain user profiles using their newsletter interests. The newsletter created by Marcus Adams is sent to the customers from a marketing campaign, after which users can subscribe to several newsletters of their interest.
