Use

Using the Extended Attributes tab of the category modeler tool you can define extended attributes, such as validity periods, for categories.

Activities

·        Defining validity periods

You can define validity periods on a single category level, making it possible to specify validity intervals that are independent of the technical validity period of the categorization schema. This functionality allows flexible activation of categories independent of the release time of the schema.

¡        Inheritance concept of validity periods

The validity period of a category is passed on to its sub-categories. Additionally, it is possible to locally define category values. Therefore, the effective validity period of a single category is always a combination of its inherited values and the locally defined values. In the case of conflicting values, the more restrictive value is the valid one.

¡        Deactivation of validity periods

A category can be removed from a current schema version in the following two ways:

§         Create a new schema version and delete the category from the new schema version.

A deleted category is no longer available for searching and BW.

§         Create a new schema version and deactivate the category by changing its valid to date.

A deactivated category can no longer be used in newly created cases that have a reference date higher than the deactivation date. For more information see the section Maintaining a Reference Date in Categorizing Cases in CRM Case Management.

A deactivated category remains available for searching and BW.

·        Defining additional extended attributes

You can define category attributes for customer-specific requests. For information on the enhancements necessary for defining further category attributes, see Data Enhancement in Case Management PCUI.
