Deploying Categorization Schemas for CRM Case
Management
Only categorization schemas with status Deployed can be used in CRM Case Management. The system automatically sets the schema status to Deployed as soon as the valid from date/time of the released schema is reached.
Multilevel categorization allows for changes to deployed categorization schemas to be reflected in different schema versions. CRM Case Management requires a new schema version whenever an existing categorization schema version undergoes changes to any of the following:
· Hierarchy structure, for example, adding new categories
· Validity intervals of single categories, that is, deactivation of categories by setting a new valid to date for a single category
· Linked objects—activity templates, document template profile, screen variants—of a category, depending on the setup of the authorization profile for authorization object CRM_CATEGO.
New categorization schema versions cannot be released with a past valid from date/time. When a new categorization schema version is released, the valid to date/time of the currently valid schema version is adjusted to the valid from date/time of the new schema version.
When a case is first assigned to a reference category, it is bound to the currently valid categorization schema version. For more information see the section Setting a Schema Reference in Categorizing Cases in CRM Case Management.
