Using an Emulated DataSource 3.x
You can display an emulated DataSource 3.x in DataSource maintenance in BI. Changes are not possible in this display. In addition, you can use emulation to create the data flow for a DataSource 3.x with transformations, without having to migrate the existing data flow that is based on the DataSource 3.x.
Use emulation before migration to model and test the functionality of the (new) data flow with transformations, without changing or deleting the objects of the existing data flow.
If, for the DataSource 3.x, you want to model the data flow using transformations, the transfer rules and therefore the transfer structure, must be activated for the DataSource 3.x. The PSA table is created when the transfer structure is activated to which the data can then be written.
To display the DataSource 3.x emulated in the DataSource maintenance, mark the DataSource 3.x in the DataSource tree and choose Display in the context menu.
To create the data flow using transformations, mark the DataSource 3.x in the DataSource tree and choose Create Transformation in the context menu. You set the target for the data transfer from the PSA table using the transformation.
When you have set the data flow you can migrate the DataSource 3.x. Alternatively, you can set the processes for data transfer (load process using InfoPackage and data transfer process) and the other data processing processes in BI. We recommend using process chains.

The DataSource 3.x does not support real-time data acquisition during emulation.
