Archiving Request Administration
Data
In archive administration (transaction SARA), you can write the administration data of requests to an archive file. Report RSREQARCH_WRITE is executed for this purpose.
You have applied the required Customizing settings.

1. On the initial screen of archive administration, select the archiving object BWREQARCH.
2. Choose Write.
3. The screen on which you schedule a background job for the write program appears.
4. Select a variant.
5. If you want to create a new variant, specify a variant name and choose Maintain.
6. In the variant, determine the data that you want to archive, and make the settings required for processing the data.
The primary selection fields are the input fields for selecting the date. You should only base a selection on the request number in exceptional cases.
7. Select the requests by specifying a selection period.
The administration data for all the requests that were loaded in the specified period are archived.
When you archive the administration data of a request, a lock is set for the request. For this reason, the archiving run may affect performance when executing actions on requests (for example, calling the monitor). We recommend that you choose selections for the archiving write program so that the administration data for a maximum of 1,000 to 10,000 requests is archived in one run.
For example, if you have approximately 1,000 requests a month in your system and you want to archive the administration data for all requests that are more than one year old, you can determine selections so that the administration data requests for one month are archived. You determine the start date for the selections in table RSSELDONE in field SELDATE.
8. Make the additional settings for the variants.
9. Maintain the variant attributes and save them.
10. Save the variant and go back to the previous screen.
11. Maintain the start date and spool parameters.
12. Choose Execute.

Note: Only one archiving run can run at one specific time. You cannot start report RSREQARCH_WRITE parallel to other archiving runs.
The system generates an archiving run for object BWREQARCH. The system only writes the request administration data that it finds in tables RSREQDONE and RSSELDONE to the archive files.
If the No Scheduling option is set in the archiving-object-specific Customizing for the delete program, execute the delete program at a specific time, after the data has been archived successfully. The delete report RSREQARCH_DELETE verifies the archive files that the system has written and then deletes the entries for the archived requests from database tables RSMON* and RS*DONE.
