Function documentation Configuration of the Portal Drive Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

On user PCs, you can assign KM folders to network drive letters. Users can then open, edit, and save documents located in KM folders in Windows. In addition, the portal drive provides functions for offline editing and synchronization. Communication with the server is done using the WebDAV protocol.

 

Prerequisites

You have installed the Windows client on the client PCs. For more information, see Installation.

Shared Used of Documents and Folders

The portal drive complies with version 1.3 of the specification RFC3744 for the WebDAV Access Control Protocol.

Versioning

The portal drive supports the version enhancements for WebDAV according to specification RFC3253.

Configuring User Interfaces

By default, the Map Portal Drive command is not visible in any iView. In order for users to be able to use this command, you must add the mount_PortalDrive user interface command to the corresponding command group in the KM UI configuration (see Commands and Command Groups).
