Installation 
You can download the installer from SAP Service Marketplace under service.sap.com ® Software Download ® Download ® Support Packages and Patches ® Entry by Application Group ® SAP NetWeaver ® SAP NETWEAVER ® SAP NETWEAVER 04 ® Entry by Component ® Frontend ® Portal Drive 4.4.
Extract the executable file from the zip archive, and make it available for your clients.
· Windows NT/2000/XP
· Internet connection
· 128Mb RAM
· 10Mb free disk space
If you have been provided with a link to the portal drive software, begin the portal drive installation by clicking on the portal drive executable link.
Select Run this program from its current location in the File Download dialog.
When the security warning dialog appears, select Yes to install and run the installation program.

You may also choose to download the installation program to your local hard drive and run it from there. After downloading, double-click on the installer to begin installation.
The portal drive software is backward-compatible and, therefore, installing the latest version over a previous version will save your setup information. To upgrade, follow the installation instructions above.
Upon installation, Portal Drive is added to your Windows Startup group. Portal Drive will also appear in your Windows Programs menu. Choose Start ® Programs ® SAP Front End ® Portal Drive ® Portal Drive Client as an alternate start method if it has not been automatically started.
Once started, it can be displayed by clicking the Portal Drive icon appearing in your Windows system tray.
There are two ways to uninstall the portal drive software:
From the Windows Control Panel:

1. Choose Add/Remove Programs.
2. Scroll down to Portal Drive and select the Add/Remove button.
3. Reboot your computer to complete the process.
From your Windows Programs Menu:
...
1. Navigate to the Portal Drive folder.
2. Choose Uninstall Portal Drive.
3. Reboot your computer to complete the process.
If you are running a real-time virus scanner, it is recommended that you configure the virus scanner to exclude scanning of the portal drive cache. Doing this provides a noticeable performance improvement when working with the cache, such as during opening and editing of files.
