Function documentation Proposing Requested Delivery Date in the Header Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You can let the system propose a requested delivery date in the sales transaction header, and it is automatically copied into new request schedule lines of the sales transaction.

Features

The system determines the requested delivery date in the following ways:

·        You enter the date manually or select a rule to let the system propose a delivery date.

·        If you do not enter a date or select a rule, the system automatically calculates the date by using the default rule for the date type.

·        If no default rule is defined for the date type, the system proposes the system date.

·        If customizing for date management is incomplete, the system does not propose a requested delivery date.

If you change the requested delivery date in the header, the delivery dates in existing schedule lines remain unchanged.

The system takes into consideration the factory calendar and the goods receiving hours of the ship-to party. It uses the time zone of the ship-to party. If this is not maintained, the system uses the local system time zone. If you change the business transaction and enter a ship-to party with another time zone, then the system updates the requested delivery date in the header and the schedule lines accordingly.

In the People-Centric UI the requested delivery date is located in the results list. In the SAP Graphical User Interface (SAP GUI) the requested delivery date is located in the header on the Shipping tab.

Activities

You must assign a date profile to a transaction type and to the item category in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management under Basic Functions ® Date Management. This date profile must contain the date type REQ_DLV_DATE.

You can also define date rules and create a standard rule for the date type REQ_DLV_DATE.
