Process documentation Creating a Financial Service Product Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Purpose

You use financial service products (FS products) to map sales products from the Financial Services area in the system and use them in business transactions.

Prerequisites

To create FS products, you have met the following prerequisites:

In Customizing you have executed the report that creates the base hierarchy for FS products or you have created the base hierarchy manually.

For more information, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Financial Services under Account Origination ® Financial Service Product (FS Product) ® Create Base Hierarchy for FS.

As SAP Customer Relationship Management (SAP CRM) only maps the sales view of products, you have created the operational view of your products in the inventory-managing system. You have also assigned the operational products to the sales products in SAP CRM.

For more information, see Connecting External Systems.

Process Flow

To create an FS product, proceed as follows:

       1.      You select product type 07 FS Product and then select the required category. The category defines which set types and relationship types are allowed for a product.

       2.      You enter the general properties of the product. The data you define for a product is determined by the category.

For a description of the set types shipped, see Set Types for Financial Service Products.

       3.      You can link an FS product with other products or with product categories. The relationships you can define for an FS product are determined by the category.

The following relationship types are particularly important for FS products:

     Product package

For more information, see Creating a Product Bundle.

     FS relationship

For more information see Linking FS Products and Product Categories.

       4.      You save the product.

Result

You have created an FS product. You can create a quotation for this product for a customer, for example.
