Profile Creation for an XML Export  

Purpose

You can create as many profiles as you want for each business partner for the XML Export and define one of them as a standard profile each time.

Prerequisites

You have created a multimedia profile in Customizing. In Customizing for Customer Relationship Management, choose Master Data ® Product Catalog ® Define multimedia profiles for XML export.

Process Flow

You can create export profiles for business partners directly in your SAP CRM system (in the SAP Easy Access Menu choose Master Data ® Product Catalog ® Maintain Export Profile) or in your CRM E-Commerce Web-based Catalog Management application. You define the same details in both systems.

       1.      Enter the business partner ID and the name of the export profile.

       2.      Select Create or Change.

       3.      If you want to use this export profile as the standard profile for your customer, select Standard Profile.

       4.      The system displays three tab pages:

○     Constant data

Fill in the necessary details as described in the table below.

○     Data Transfer

Fill in the necessary details as described in the table below.

○     Administrative data

The system automatically fills in the administrative data for the profile. For example, creation date, last changed date.

Constant Data

Field	Description
Product Key	Choose whether you want to use product order numbers or product IDs as product keys. Always use the product ID for the purchasing catalog.
Multimedia Profile	Specify a multimedia profile which you created in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management under Master Data ® Product Catalog ® Define multimedia profiles for XML export.
XML Format	XML format for catalog.
List Prices	Specify whether you want to use list prices
Partner for Prices	Specify whether you want to use business partner specific prices

 

Data Transfer

Field	Description
Use XI	Send the product catalog data in XML format via XI to another system
Destination	Enter the destination system to which XI should transfer the exported file
Mapping	Select this field to modify the XML file to match the recipient’s format during the XI export.
Format	XML format to be used, that is Bme or Ecx
Download	Download the file the file to the server
File name	File name to which the catalog should be downloaded

       5.      Once you have filled in all necessary data, Save the profile.

Result

The export profile is created and can be used again for XML exports. When you create an export for the Business partner, the system finds all export profiles you have created for the business partner, and displays them for your selection when creating the XML export.
