Procedure documentation Transporting BEx Objects Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

The following procedures relate to queries, workbooks and Web application objects.

When transporting these BEx objects for the first time, proceed as is described in BI Transport Connection: Transport Objects. You do not need to write these objects individually to a request for further transports. You can transport the objects either using a standard BEx transport request or using a BEx transport request per package.

Transporting BEx Objects Using a Standard Transport Request

Use

You can store a single transport request for BEx objects that have already been transported. All changes are written to this request – independently of the user.

Procedure

...

       1.      You are in the Data Warehousing Workbench in the Transport Connection functional area. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text BEx with the quick info Create Transport Requests for BEx. The BEx Transport Requests dialog box appears.

       2.      To create a transport request for BEx Objects, choose Assign/Delete. The New Transport Request for BEx dialog box appears.

       3.      Assign the required transport request  or create a new one. Then choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Continue.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

A new request has to be created immediately after you release a BEx transport request. For this reason, either an administrator or project coordinator must create the requests centrally.

       4.      To transport your BEx transport request, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text CTO Transport Organizer: Overview. The Transport Organizer: Requests screen appears.

       5.      Select the task/request that you want to release. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text  Release Directly

Note

First, release the individual tasks and then the complete request.

Transporting BEx Objects Using BEx Transport Requests for Individual Packages

Use

In certain circumstances, one request is not enough for all BEx objects. In this case, you can make one BEx request per package.

Example

This is the case if:

·         you want to transport BEx objects from one development system to different productive systems.

·         you want to divide BEx objects into several areas in a large project.

Note

If a package has no specific request, the object is written to the standard BEx transport request.
