Status Management for Target
Groups
The status management for target groups can also be used in channel management for the cross-channel maintenance of target groups by channel managers and channel partners.
You can change the status of a target group in the target group properties. There are three different statuses for target groups:
● Active
This is the default status for each target group that you create.
To set the status Inactive for a target group, remove the Active indicator. You cannot use inactive target groups in the campaign execution or follow-up processing.
● Modeling Completed
You cannot add or remove any more business partners. The status Modeling Completed cannot be undone. The target group can no longer be regenerated from the same profile and deduplication is no longer possible. However, you can still split, rejoin, open, copy, and archive the target group.
● To Be Archived
When the status To Be Archived is set, you can no longer assign the marketing segment to a campaign or use it for campaign-independent follow-up processing. It is also no longer possible to change segments that are to be archived. However, as long as the archiving has not yet begun, you can undo the status at any time. For more information, see Archiving in the Segment Builder.
The campaign manager creates a target group based on a profile and adds 20 extra business partners who do not match the profile criteria, but which the marketing manager nevertheless wishes to contact with the same marketing activity.
The campaign manager is satisfied with the result and wants to make it impossible to add or remove further business partners. The campaign manager sets the status to Modeling Completed to ensure that no more changes can be made to the target group.
If the campaign manager wanted to continue modeling using this target group as a basis, he or she could copy this target group and continue processing it under a different name.
