Mandatory Templates and Mandatory and
Read-Only Template Fields· You can specify that a template is mandatory for a specific activity category.
· You can specify mandatory and read-only template fields during activity journal template creation. You do this when you select the fields you want to appear in the activity journal, such as number of samples, product priority, everyday low price.

Mandatory Templates
During activity processing, you can save the activity without having maintained the mandatory template. However, you cannot set it to Completed until you have maintained the mandatory template for the activity category specified
Specifics of CRM Enterprise
Mandatory templates are displayed on the Activity Journals tab page as Activity Journals (mandatory).
Specifics of CRM Mobile
Mandatory templates are marked by a flag in the Mandatory column in the template list.
Mandatory Template Fields
If you have set mandatory template fields for the template, you can still save the activity journal without having maintained these fields.
