Defining Analysis Authorizations
You have marked the characteristic or navigation attributes as authorization relevant in the InfoObject maintenance.
You have authorization to assign and manage analysis authorizations (authorization object S_RSEC).
...
1. On the SAP Easy Access screen for SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence, choose SAP Menu ® Business Explorer® Manage Analysis Authorizations.
2.
Specify the
technical name for the authorization and choose
Create. The Maintain
Authorizations screen appears.
3. Enter a description for the authorization.
4.
Add the
characteristics 0TCAACTVT (activity), 0TCAIPROV (InfoProvider) and 0TCAVALID
(validity) using
Insert Special Characteristics.

We recommend that you include these special characteristics in every authorization.
It is not technically necessary to include these special characteristics in every authorization but we recommend it in order to retain clarity. Every user, however, has to have authorizations for each of these special characteristics.
By default, they are assigned standard values in the intervals:
Read (03) is set as the default activity, always valid (*) is set for validity and all (*) is set for the InfoProvider.
5.
Choose
Insert Row. Using input help, you can
select characteristics and navigation attributes that were previously
indicated as authorization relevant.
6.
With
Detail Maintenance of
Characteristic/Dimension, you get to maintenance of values and hierarchy
authorizations for the characteristic.
7. On the Value Authorizations tab page, you can specify an interval or a single value. You have the following options:
○ With the information in the column Including/Excluding you control whether this value or value interval is included or excluded (Excluding is only possible for 0TCAVALID). With the Operator column, you can still specify this information.
○ You can insert an exit variable with Insert Exit Variable. See Authorizations with Variables.
○
You can use
Check to see whether your
specifications are useful. For more explanation, see the long texts for the
messages that you receive by clicking on the messages.
8.
On the Hierarchy
Authorizations tab page, you can specify one or more hierarchies. With the
Hierarchy Authorization Maintenance
Dialog you can
○ specify one or more hierarchy nodes
○ make settings for the type of hierarchy authorization, the hierarchy level and area of validity. See also Settings for Hierarchy Authorizations.
9. Save the authorization.
The authorization can only be assigned to one user.
See Assigning Authorizations to a User.
