Definition

Application processes are processes that are to be automated in the process chain maintenance. They represent activities typically executed in the operative use of BI.

The application processes supported by the process chain maintenance

Process Category

Application Process Type

Load process and post processing

·         Execute InfoPackage

For more information, see Structure linkIncluding an InfoPackage in the Process Chain.

Caution

If you use process chains, the automatisms of the integrated processes are ignored and have to be implemented using the process chain.

For example, if you have selected the updating types Only PSA and Subsequently in Data Targets in the InfoPackage from the Processing tab page, and you are using this InfoPackage in a process chain, then the further updating into the data target does not automatically happen. It only happens if the process Read PSA and Update Data Target is scheduled in the respective process chain after the load process.

You can call up documentation for a process type in the system by selecting the process type in the overview tree and choosing F1. The tree is located in the left-hand screen area of the process chain maintenance. You can also call the documentation by choosing This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Further Help when adding a process to the dialog box in which the variant is determined.
