This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

The following business process runs in SAP ECC:

...

       1.      Edit work areas and work area patterns

In work area management, you define the structure of your work areas for processes, installations, person groups, or tasks and enter information specific to industrial hygiene and safety. Using work area patterns, you create standardized exposure profiles and risk assessments for activities and work areas.

       2.      Edit agents

You enter agents that can occur in your enterprise. An agent can have a specific or potential adverse effect on the health and wellbeing of a person. You can manage the agents in the specification database in Environment, Health and Safety (EHS).

       3.      Edit risk assessments

You document which agents and risks occur in the various work areas of your enterprise. You can analyze the exposure situation, and order and track industrial hygiene and safety measures with protection goals.

       4.      Edit and track IHS safety measures

Technical, organizational, and person-related industrial hygiene and safety measures help to avoid industrial accidents and hazards, and guarantee safe and humane working conditions.

       5.      Edit measurement projects

Measurement managementsupports you with the planning, execution, and managing of measurements at the work areas in your enterprise. You can monitor compliance with legal requirements, such as threshold limit values for the air at the workplace. Editing measurement projects is available as of SAP R/3 Enterprise Extension Set 2.00.

       6.      Generate standard operating procedure

When you produce standard operating procedures, you take into account regulations for industrial hygiene and safety and accident prevention, and safety and occupational health rules.

       7.      Evaluate risk assessments/measurement projects/hazardous substance log

Using the reports in industrial hygiene and safety, you can run queries and searches, create evaluations and statistics, and check the status of processes.

Detailed evaluations are available for risk assessment and measurement management.

       8.      Edit incidents/accidents

You document and edit work-related events, such as near misses, damage to property, and personal injuries, in accordance with legal requirements. Here you can include information from Human Resources.

       9.      Evaluate accident statistics

You can evaluate the incident/accident log in incident/accident management. Accident statistics are an important tool for determining the causes of accidents.
