Maintaining Data Transfer Control Parameters
for DataSources
In the BI Scheduler you have the option of determining control parameters for data transfer for individual DataSources. This function is available with Scheduler à Default DataSource Settings for Data Transfer. You can update transaction data in the PSA in this way, for example in larger data packages. Smaller packets guarantee faster processing if you want to update master data in the dialog.
You can define the following parameters for DataSources from SAP source systems:
Control Parameter |
Update Mode |
Size of data package |
For all possible update modes |
Number of parallel processes for the data transfer |
For all possible update modes |
Frequency with which the status IDocs are sent |
For all possible update modes |
Maximum number of data packages per request
|
For delta and repeat requests |
You can define the following parameters for file DataSources:
Control Parameter |
Update Mode |
Size of data package |
For all possible update modes |
Frequency with which the info IDocs are sent |
For all possible update modes |
The settings you made in the Scheduler override the settings made in extractor-customizing for SAP source systems for a particular DataSource and a particular update method.
In general you maintain the control parameters for data transfer from an SAP source system in the Customizing of the extractors. You go to Customizing of the extractors from the context menu of the corresponding source system in the source system tree of the Data Warehousing Workbench. Choose Business Information Warehouse à General Settings à Maintaining Control Parameters for Data Transfer to display or change the settings for the data transfer on source system level.
Use those settings that you made in the Scheduler to control the setting that you made under Business Intelligence à Links To Other Systems àMaintain Control Parameters For Data Transfer for a particular DataSource.
